Utah Alpha Phi
“Where sisterhood feels like home” is what we strive to show you throughout recruitment at @utahalphaphi. Recruitment is your chance to step into a space where you are welcomed, heard, and truly get to share your story while learning about ours. Each conversation is an opportunity to meet women who are excited to know you, not just as a potential new member, but as a person. We want you to feel comfortable being yourself, asking questions, and experiencing what genuine sisterhood can look like at the University of Utah.
During recruitment, you’ll also get a glimpse into what life in Alpha Phi is really like, from the friendships built in our house to the women involved across campus in ASUU, Dance and Cheer, lacrosse, academic organizations, and more. You will see how our members balance academics, leadership, and sisterhood, all while supporting one another every step of the way.
Most importantly, recruitment is about finding where you feel at home. Whether that’s with Alpha Phi or another Panhellenic chapter, our hope is that you leave the process feeling confident, valued, and excited for the next chapter of your college journey.
Letter from the VP of Membership Recruitment
Joining Alpha Phi has been one of the most meaningful parts of my college experience. Going through recruitment was always something I knew I wanted to do, but I didn’t fully understand how much it would impact me until I experienced it myself. It shaped not only where I found my place, but also who I’ve become since then.
Recruitment can bring a mix of emotions. There will be moments that are exciting, moments that challenge you, and moments that may feel uncertain—and all of that is a normal part of the experience. Trust the process and trust yourself, because it has a way of leading you exactly where you are meant to be. In the end, you will find yourself surrounded by people who value you, support you, and are excited to welcome you for exactly who you are.
For me, that’s what Alpha Phi became. It’s where I found people who support me, push me to grow, and give me the confidence to step into opportunities I never would have imagined—like serving as Vice President of Membership Recruitment. This role has challenged me in the best way, and it has been incredibly rewarding to help shape the experience for all of you.
My biggest piece of advice is to stay true to yourself throughout the process. Don’t overthink it or try to be who you think others want—just show up as you. Recruitment goes by quickly, but the relationships you build during it can stay with you far beyond these few days.
I am so excited to meet all of you and see where this experience takes you.
All love,

Abbi Meacham

Recruitment Quick Tips
Be Yourself
The most important thing you can do is show up as your authentic self. Every chapter is looking for real connections, not perfection.
Keep an open mind
Remember that you are choosing a house for yourself, not anyone else. When going to each house and talking to the members, look for a place where you feel comfortable. The house you choose will be your home away from home for the next four years!
Make new friends
College is such an exciting experience and is different from high school. It is so easy to remain close with your friends from high school, but we encourage you to also make friendships during the recruitment process. Most of these women will be joining the Panhellenic community with you as well!
Talk to your Rho Gammas!
They are there to help you! They can answer any questions you have about the recruitment process and they want to make you feel as comfortable as possible. They are your best friends throughout the entire recruitment process
