Letter from the President
My name is Avery Hall, and I have the privilege of serving as Chapter President of Alpha Phi at the University of Utah. When I think about what Alpha Phi means to me, I think about the people, the friendships, the support, and the sense of belonging that has truly shaped my college experience. Our chapter is made up of women from so many different backgrounds, passions, and paths, and that diversity is what makes our sisterhood so special. We are united by our shared commitment to our values: sisterhood, innovation, character, and generosity, and we strive to live those out in everything we do.
Alpha Phi has become so much more than just an organization to me. It is my home away from home. It is where I have found people who encourage me, challenge me, and celebrate me. Being part of Greek life at the U has opened doors to meaningful connections all across campus, but what I cherish most is the close-knit community I have found within our chapter.
Through Alpha Phi, I have grown in ways I never expected, not just as a leader, but as a friend and as a person. It is a place that will always be part of who I am, long after college. Recruitment is such a special and exciting time, and I remember exactly what it felt like to be in your shoes. We cannot wait to meet you and get to know your story. My biggest piece of advice is simple: be yourself. The right place will feel natural, comfortable, and genuine, and you deserve that.
As always, SKO UTES!
With love,
Avery Hall

How to balance academics and sorority life at University of Utah?
One of the most common questions we receive is, "Can I balance Alpha Phi with my academics?" The answer is yes! At Alpha Phi, academics come first, and our chapter is committed to helping every sister succeed both in and out of the classroom. From accountability partners to sisters who share your major, you'll always have a support system cheering you on.
Here are a few ways our members successfully balance college life and Alpha Phi:
Prioritize your academics: Alpha Phi encourages members to put their education first. While chapter events, philanthropy, and sisterhood activities are important, your academic success always comes first. Learning to prioritize your responsibilities is a skill that will benefit you long after graduation.
Lean on your sisters: One of the greatest advantages of Alpha Phi is having a built-in support system. Whether you need help finding a tutor, preparing for an exam, or getting advice from an upperclassman in your major, there is always a sister willing to help. Many members form study groups, share class recommendations, and celebrate each other's academic accomplishments.
Stay Organized: Successful Alpha Phis make use of planners, digital calendars, and reminders to stay on top of classes, chapter meetings, philanthropy events, and personal commitments. Planning ahead helps make college life both manageable and enjoyable.
Communicate: Alpha Phi is built on sisterhood and support. If you have a busy week with exams or major projects, communicate with your chapter leaders and sisters. They understand that academics are a priority and are there to support you when you need it most.
Get involved at your own pace: There are countless opportunities to become involved in Alpha Phi, from committees and leadership positions to philanthropy events and sisterhood activities. Members are encouraged to choose opportunities that fit their schedules and personal goals, allowing them to have a meaningful experience without becoming overwhelmed.
Take advantage of Alpha Phi resources: Alpha Phi provides members with leadership education, personal development programming, and academic encouragement throughout the year. Combined with University of Utah academic resources, members have access to a strong network of support to help them succeed.
Take care of yourself: Alpha Phi believes that success includes taking care of your physical and mental well-being. Make time for rest, healthy habits, and meaningful friendships. Spending time with your sisters can be a great way to recharge while building lifelong memories.
Your success is our success: Being an Alpha Phi means joining a community that celebrates your achievements whether that's earning a great grade, landing an internship, studying abroad, or accepting your first job after graduation. Our sisters encourage one another to strive for excellence while creating a college experience that is both rewarding and unforgettable.
